Room Rental

The following rooms are available for public use at the David T. Prosser Jr. Library, located at 120 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Madison. Any group, organization, or individual may reserve these rooms as long as the intended use is a not-for-profit activity and does not involve sales or solicitations of any kind. Meeting rooms must be reserved and paid for in advance. Contact Jaden Henneman at 608-261-7553 or jaden.henneman@wicourts.gov to schedule your room reservation and arrange for payment.

Available to reserve

  • Individual User Workrooms
    • Designed for individual users; a space for quiet study or consulting with clients.
    • Internet access
    • Rooms may be reserved for extended periods
    • View workroom.
    • Fee: $5 refundable key deposit. No charge for single day use; $20.00 per day for extended periods.
  • Conference Room
    • Seats 8-12 at one rectangular table.
    • Internet access
    • View room.
    • Fee: $20.00 per hour (or fraction thereof)
  • Rare Book Room
    • Seats 24 at 4 square tables and can be arranged to accommodate up to 32.
    • Internet access
    • This room is freely available to users for study when not reserved for meeting functions.
    • Built in projection screen. Digital projector available.
    • View room.
    • Fee: $30.00 per hour (or fraction thereof)
 

General Information and Policies

Any group, organization, or individual may reserve these rooms as long as the intended use is a not-for-profit activity and does not involve sales or solicitations of any kind. Meeting rooms must be reserved and paid for in advance. Contact Jaden Henneman at 608-261-7553 or jaden.henneman@wicourts.gov to schedule your room reservation and arrange for payment.

Reservations for daily use of user workrooms are not required. Reservations for meeting rooms are generally on a first-come, first-served basis. Library or court sponsored programs will have preference. Fees are waived for Supreme Court and Wisconsin state agency personnel. Meeting rooms may be reserved from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Requests for alternative hours will be approved on a case-by-case basis.

Users are responsible for clean-up. Failure to do so may result in being charged an additional one hour of rent, and/or denial of future use of the room. Users will be held responsible for any damages to a room’s furnishings, carpets or equipment.

Cancellations/No Shows

Refunds will be given if written cancellation notice is received by the Library 24 hours in advance of the meeting’s scheduled start time. No refunds are given for non-appearance.

Equipment

The Library’s digital projector and projection screen may be reserved for use in the Conference Room or Rare Book Room when not scheduled for use in the Computer Training Room. A podium is available.

Food & Beverages

Non-alcoholic beverages in covered containers and light snacks are permitted. The renting group must provide coffee pot, cups, etc. Meal-type refreshments require prior approval.
